What is the braking system?

The braking system is a vital part for the safety of the driver. It is made up of hydraulic and mechanical components that work together to maintain safer braking distance. When the driver presses the brake pedal, fluid from the master cylinder will travel through the brake lines and force a caliper piston to extend outward. When the caliper pistons move outward, it will press the brake pads against the rotor and grab on to make the wheels stop turning. The braking system is made up of multiple components including pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, master cylinder, lines, shoes and drums. When the braking system works correctly, the vehicle will stop when the driver presses the brake pedal.
